Context
The founders, Samin and Zumeira, first heard about therapy animals through SFU. We thought it was a great idea and decided to bring a light on it and make it more known in our community. Through this awareness, action can be taken to introduce therapy animals into a high school setting.
Though we are not able to bring this plan into action, we want to let it be known that coping mechanisms, such as this one, do help with one's anxiety; and one of the most effective technique is affection from other living things, such as animals.

Our driving question: To what extent do therapy animals help with one's mental health
What is mental health?
Mental health is "a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being" (Mariam-Webster). Everyone has mental health. "There is no health without mental health" (WHO).
Over a lifetime, not all people will experience mental illnesses, but will struggle with their mental health.
The table below demonstrates how mental health and illness affects someone.
